How Our Leather Shirts Are Made

Hides are selected for softness and drape first. Shirt patterns need particular attention at the collar stand, the button or zip placket, and the sleeve width, because these are the points where a leather shirt starts looking like a badly cut jacket if the pattern is off.

Panels are joined with fine, strong thread and reinforced stitching at the collar attachment, cuff seams, and placket. Buttons and snaps are set through backing so they do not tear out of the leather. Every shirt is checked for seam consistency, collar shape, and finish before it is packed.

Caring for a Leather Shirt

Wipe with a dry cloth after wearing. Apply a light leather conditioner every 4 to 6 months - less product than you would use on a jacket, since shirt leather is thinner. Hang on a shaped hanger rather than folding, keep it away from radiators and direct sun, and never machine wash or tumble dry.
